Poteau Chamber Announces 2023 Christmas Parade

(Poteau, Oklahoma) – The Poteau Chamber of Commerce announces the 2023 Poteau Christmas Parade Theme—A Down Home Christmas. “This year’s theme will let our float participants use their imagination and creativity to help the parade-goers experience a different level of designs from what we’ve had in the past. Our theme, A Down Home Christmas, will hopefully bring back memories of Christmases past and present,” states Karen Wages, Poteau Chamber CEO and parade organizer. “This year’s parade will provide a variety of colorful floats from the two-state area. Our Arkansas and surrounding LeFlore County neighbors like to come to participate or spectate our parade since it is one of the area’s first paradea of the season, December 2, beginning at 6:00 PM.

Anyone who wants to enter a float can register online or download the registration form from the Poteau Chamber website (www.poteauchamber.com) and email or send it in. Registration must be completed no later than noon on Friday, December 1st or beginning on site at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 2nd. Line up will be at Carl Albert State College, 1507 S. McKenna Street, Poteau, OK. All those wishing to be judged must be in line and registered by 5:00 PM on the 2nd. Those who walk will line up at the Donald W. Reynolds Center parking lot between McKenna and Broadway no later than 5:45 PM.

Parade-goers can park along the parade route including on McKenna Avenue and Dewey Avenue or in one of the public parking lots in the Downtown Dewey District from Broadway to Harper and Sage to Reynolds.
