The LeFlore County Historical Society is pleased to announce the newest exhibit at the LeFlore County Museum at Hotel Lowrey. This exhibit is from a private collection featuring original art pieces and limited signed prints from various Native American artists.
The collection includes a set of frosted Indian Tumblers and a set of clear glass tumblers that were given to the customer with a purchase of 10 gallons of gas from Knox gas stations (later bought out by Kerr). The art on these glasses were from Acee Blue Eagle, an Oklahoma Native American artist. The glasses were first given out in the late 1950s.
Also, on exhibit are the Native American Barbie Dolls that were offered for a limited time. Some of the artists include Danny Kaler, Acee Blue Eagle, Enoch Kelly Haney, Robert Redbird and many, many more. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.
