Description and Duties of Job:
Assist with daily operations of the Chamber of Commerce. Help coordinate activities with the public and local businesses. Make presentations to employers and the Chamber Board, meet with the public, work with volunteers, and organization special events. Publish notices, as needed, for special events and newsletters. Organize schedules of events, on spreadsheets and organizers, and ensure appointments are kept and arrangements are made for meetings. Lead As Director of The Poteau Chamber Young Professionals. Will be required to attend and work at special events, even outside of normal business hours. May include weekends and evenings. May require some travel.
Specific Skill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
Applicants must have excellent oral, written and communication skills and marketing skills. Full working knowledge Microsoft Office, Excel. Microsoft Publishing, Adobe Illustrator and Photo Shop and Canva a must. Working knowledge of website management, social media management. Willing to attend Chamber Management Courses per level of tenure. Be able to make presentations, meet with the public; work with volunteers and events organization. It is very imperative that the applicant be able to deal with the public in a positive and professional manner. Knowledge of the City of Poteau, streets, area tourist attractions, business locations, and areas of interest in Leflore County. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
