Each year, in conjunction with the State of Oklahoma, with the help of the City of Poteau, hosts a City Wide Trash Off in April.
The City Wide Trash Off Event is a volunteer event in which participants gather and then disperse through out the City of Poteau to pick up trash and litter.
This is a great event for any organization or business to get involved in.
Along with the Trash Off Day, the education committee visits with the local 4th grade elementary students to discuss litter and its prevention. 4th Grade students are asked to create a poster that will help inform others of picking up their trash and "keeping Poteau a beautiful place."
In 2013, as an incentive to get more involved, organizers are offering a $100 monetary donation to any non-profit organization, church, school or non-business group that has the most members participate. Free Food & Drinks are served fo all participants.
Check in begins at 9am. Areas are assigned, trash bags, gloves & vests are provided.

Sponsorships are available for $100 each. Sponsors receive logo on banner, on website, thank you in newspaper and on facebook.

April 18th, 6:00pm - Poster Contest Reception at City Hall
April 20th, 9:00am - City Wide Trash Off - All Star Parking Lot
